The Power of Visualization

There are many tools we can use to improve our success and our lives to a higher level and all of these tools are important elements in our path to success.   There is one tool in particular though that I believe gets forgotten about in our day to day lives and our daily activities that when used and applied can help pave our road to success.   The practice is visualization and it can be used for anything we want and there are ways to ensure we utilize it to its greatest power.   Visualization is the practice of picturing in your mind’s eye what you are looking to achieve before you even start.   Perhaps this tool has been made popular by sports figures who have described envisioning hitting that home run, making the 3 point shot at the end of a game or draining that long putt to win the Masters before they even step on the field, court or course.   The important thing to remember is this tool is not limited to only sports or larger then life events to help ensure our success and our own greatness but this can be used in our everyday lives.   It is critical to use every tool we can to increase our confidence and begin living into the story we have already written in our mind.   When we incorporate visualization into our routine we will significantly increase our potential for success and bring our desired results and reality more closely in line.

As is the case with any tools we use there are some tips and tricks that help to increase the power these tools provide.     Probably the most important tip to increase the power of visualization is to begin practicing as often as possible.   There is no better way to get good at anything then by practicing and visualization is no different.   When we start to incorporate this into our daily routine and begin to visualize things more frequently we begin to harness the energy of the universe and tap into the power of our own mind.   I am sure we have all heard how little of our mind’s power the average person uses but if you are reading this article chances are you don’t want to be average you want to be above average.   So work to incorporate visualization into your daily routine and watch the changes that occur.

Our mind is a powerful instrument that can accomplish amazing things when it believes.   Visualization is the practice that gets our mind to believe what we are looking to achieve is not only possible but we have seen it happen.   As we begin to visualize it is important to put as much reality into each seen as possible.   It should not only be a picture in your mind but more of a movie, in which you can smell the smells, feel the emotion, touch the objects and people involved.   When we are truly leveraging the power of visualization to the greatest extent we are living into the movie we are running in our heads to a point in which it feels so real our mind can barely tell the difference between our visualization and reality.   The power that is created when our mind believes something so much it becomes almost impossible to prevent us from making our dream a reality.   In fact as we perfect our ability to visualize things all of a sudden when we do achieve them it almost seems like deja vue because our mind was already convinced it had happened.   It begins to feel almost anti climatic because in our mind we already achieved this or accomplished the task.

There are many tools we must have in our tool box if we are to become a difference maker in ours and other peoples lives but one of essential tools is the ability to visualize our ideas and goals before we even start.   Visualization is the hammer of our success tool box,   no one could imagine starting a solid tool box with out a hammer and no one should start down the road towards the successful life they are looking to build without being able to visualize what that road looks like and how the end looks, feels, tastes and sounds.
